LOS ANGELES: In honor of 3rd anniversary, Ray’s and Stark Bar will celebrate with a Mexican-inspired fiesta. The March 24 feast features Executive Chef Kris Morningstar’s savory take on Mexican cuisine with a variety of tasty small plates, including lamb stew, masa quesadillas with mushrooms and epazote and pumpkin seed sauce, huarache of octopus, tacos pastor, tortilla soup, and huarache of goat with pipián sauce, goat cheese, and citrus onions. Choose any you like from $2 to $10 per plate, but leave room for the pièce de résistance: the meal concludes with Morningstar carving a whole roasted lamb to serve complimentary portions for all his lucky guests. If I were you, I’d linger to sample the evening’s specialty margaritas including a ginger and herb-infused blend with ingredients harvested straight from Ray’s garden.

Located in the BP Grand Entrance of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (5905 Wilshire Blvd.), Ray’s & Stark Bar has been hailed as one of Los Angeles best restaurants, thanks to its fastidious farm-to-table menu developed by Patina’s Joachim Splichal. Chef Morningstar gives his attention to seasonal dishes from the kitchen’s wood-burning oven and grill.
