The fashion world is always ahead of the game – and this isn’t only in reference to the clothes that don our body. While we are all wallowing in our white, winter skin, luxury designer and top fashion house Chanel has come out with their newest Spring 2013 makeup collection: Printemps Précieux de Chanel.


As we trek through rain and snow, we are all secretly (and at times, not so secretly) dreaming of the soft sun of spring. While flower buds and chirping birds may be months away, Printemps Précieux de Chanel gives us a bit of relief from the dreadful winter blues. Named for the precious beauty of spring, this new cosmetics collection is a celebration of Gabrielle Chanel and her codes of simplicity and sophisticated class.

In these cold months, makeup trends revolve around all things dark and gothic (accentuating our pasty and pale, sun-deprived skin,) however, spring beauty is all about fresh and flirty makeup. Creative Director of Chanel Makeup, Peter Philips, used a handful of contrasting colors for this 2013 collection – with elegant neutrals and soft pinks for the face, alongside nail polish that is available in bright and vibrant colors.

Our personal favorite is the Poudre Signée De Chane Illuminating Powder, which is a highlighter that beautifully and gently blends peach and beige hues that warm the complexion, achieving that well-rested look (that all too often is nearly impossible to achieve naturally.) This luminous powder is applied with a sponge applicator to give the skin a natural, sheer and radiant glow.


Thank you Chanel, once again, for coming out with a line that we can’t help but shamelessly covet. The lovely Printemps Précieux collection is available starting in January so that looking fresh-faced and radiant is possible even during this dreary weather.
