Hey guys, next time you’re hovering over the Add To Cart button on Mr. Porter, humming and hawing over whether or not you should buy another pair of Berluti shoes just remember, they aren’t the most expensive shoes in the world. That title actually goes to Nick Cannon’s diamond-studded Tom Ford kicks that cost a measly $2 million. Chump change, right? Well, yeah if we’re talking about a summer home in the Hamptons, but for a pair of glittering loafers? We love heels, but personally we’d take the summer house.
Worn for the two-episode season finale of America’s Got Talent, the shoes were created by jeweler Jason Arasheben of Jason of Beverly Hills, and took over 2,000 hours and close to a year to complete. “It took four months alone to source all of the diamonds and create them the same size to make the shoe,” Arasheben told WWD. Destroying several other designer shoes in the search for a functioning pair of compatible kicks, the team finally settled on a pair of patent-leather, Tom Ford (of course) slip-ons that allowed for ease of wear and design.
Creating a mesh overlay to go over the top of the dress heels, more than 14,000 round, white diamonds were used, with a total weight of 340 carats. Individual prongs were designed for each stone and they were hand sewn onto the shoes one by one. The $2 million shoes are currently being reviewed and evaluated by the Guinness Book of World Records as the Most Valuable Pair of Shoes in the World.
