Things are always on the move in the real estate market, with gorgeous homes being bought and sold all the time. It seems like everyone has the “HGTV bug” these days, so we've rounded up some of the latest real estate deals to give you a peek into the homes some of our favorite people are adding and subtracting from their portfolios.
The highly-anticipated penthouse for late architect Zaha Hadid's first (and final) New York residential building landed on the market this week, fetching $50 million. Sitting on the High Line, the 7,000-square-foot home comes with 2,500-square-feet of outdoor space, which includes two private balconies, and commands $28,146 in taxes and other charges monthly. The five-bedroom triplex can be accessed by a Hadid-designed sculptural staircase, though an elevator is also present. It also boasts a 1,250-square-foot Great Room, vaulted ceilings, oversized motorized windows, and a state-of-the-art eat-in kitchen, which includes a marble-clad island and Gaggenau appliances. The building itself houses the city's first private IMAX theater, a 75-foot saline system swimming pool, automated robotic parking, and a reservable private spa.
One of late pop star Michael Jackson's final homes, known as the "Thrilla Villa" has finally been listed for $9.5 million. The 24,276-square-foot custom Las Vegas estate on Palomino Lane was built in Spanish/Mediterranean-style and features a French-style salon, which houses a massive fireplace, wood floors, exposed wood beams, a Murano glass chandelier, and a large area to host seated or standing events. Also included is a 74-seat medieval chapel, which is said to be pitch perfect. The 8,500-square-foot basement includes a space for a private art gallery, guest suite with full kitchen, and a private exit to a garage. The estate sits on 1.7 acres of manicured gardens and equestrian land.
British singer Adele recently purchased a mansion in Beverly Hills' exclusive gated community of Hidden Hills. She spent $9.5 million on the acquisition, which is a 17,000-square-foot house with four bedrooms and six bathrooms. It was built in 1977 and has a grand two-story foyer at the entrance, as well as a formal dining room and large kitchen which opens into a family room and breakfast area. Outdoors, the yard includes a grill, treehouse, outdoor train set, private garden, swimming pool, gazebo, and dog run. Also, rumour has it that actress Zoe Saldana recently bought a house just two doors down.
Even with an updated paint job, the Full House house is still recognizable. The famous, formerly red-doored Victorian-era Italiante home has three bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths, an office, a large eat-in kitchen and is being listed for $4.15 million. The foyer includes intricate wallpaper and hardwood floors, and leads up a bannistered staircase to high-ceilinged rooms adorned with bay windows and intricate moldings. There are fireplaces in multiple rooms and a separate library space off the formal sitting room. The lower level opens up to an English-style garden, complete with manicured hedges and an outdoor dining space.
