Montblanc, the century old German luxury goods company famed for its iconic fountain pens, has launched an exclusive new collection in support of UNICEF, the United Nations’ children’s charity. The 2013 Montblanc “Signature for Good” Collection is comprised of limited edition writing instruments, jewelry pieces and leather accessories which feature a special brick design symbolizing the company’s commitment to help build schools in developing countries. For an entire year beginning March 1, 2013, Montblanc will donate part of the proceeds from the sale of every “Signature for Good” item to UNICEF’s education programs with a minimum commitment of $1.5 million. The collection is centered on a special version of Montblanc’s famed Meisterstück pen with its legendary white star motif. 

Available as a classic fountain pen, rollerball, and ballpoint, the “Signature for Good” writing instruments feature a cap top ring with a rectangular brick pattern set with a blue sapphire inspired by UNICEF’s signature color. Sapphires and a brick motif are also used in the jewelry pieces, including cuff links with reversible surfaces of onyx and stainless steel, bracelets and key rings.

Also on offer are handcrafted leather wallets, cardholders, a pen pouch and a notebook with blue lining decorated with the brick design and finished in Italian full-grain printed calfskin. Each item in the “Signature for Good” collection comes engraved with an individual serial number that can be registered online so the purchaser can monitor the progress of the charitable initiative.
