One of the world’s most expensive and exclusive racing Ferraris will be auctioned off right in the middle of New York City in November, where it is expected to bring in up to $12 million. RM Auctions, in association with Sotheby’s, secured the vehicle for its Art of the Automobile auction on November 21. Considered one of the greatest, most original and highly prized of all Ferraris, the 1964 250 LM is sure to attract fierce bidding. A beautifully restored example of Ferrari’s very first production-based mid/rear-engine model, the car on offer (chassis no. 6107) is number 24 of just 32 examples produced, and has been associated with some of racing’s biggest names.

At the 1968 24 Hours of Daytona the 250 LM finished an amazing 8th overall and 1st in class. “Alongside the iconic 250 GTO, the 250 LM is one of the most coveted and collectible Ferraris of all time,” notes Ian Kelleher, Car Specialist, RM Auctions. “We are honored to have been entrusted with the upcoming sale of 6107.
