It’s not a secret that most luxury brands refuse to embrace e-commerce. Try to buy a bag online at Chanel’s website and instead you’ll be given an item number and a list of store locations. But little by little, companies have been warming to the idea of offering their collections online including Burberry, Saint Laurent, even Louis Vuitton, who now allows shoppers to purchase a curated selection of their shoe and accessories collections online. But it looks like more brands are willing to give it a go, with Fendi being the latest to offer goods to consumers directly through their site.

As it stands only a few items are currently available for purchase online, but by the end of March, Fendi fans could add accessories, shoes, ready-to-wear and runway designs to their internet cart. The initial offering will only allow delivery to 28 European countries, but could expand to Japan and the United States later this year or by early 2016. While that may still seem far away, these first movements into e-commerce could pave the way for the rest of the LVMH family, opening up e-commerce for a majority of the luxury market.
