Coney Island's amusement park operates seasonally, roughly between Easter and Halloween. The beach and boardwalk are open throughout the year and Nathan's Hot Dogs and the New York Aquarium are open almost every day of the year as well. During the popular summer months, a minor league baseball team plays games at their stadium on the peninsula and the famous Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest happens here every 4th of July.
