Once a quiet fishing village, the stunning stretch of beach along Lang Co Bay in central Vietnam has been transformed into a luxury resort, Banyan Tree Lang Co, due to open November 2012. For the adventure minded traveler, the new Banyan Tree resort is a destination to behold.
Surrounded by the Truong Son Mountain range and the East Sea, the five-star resort has numerous pools, exquisite service, amazing views and world-class dining and spa treatments, making it a hallmark of hospitality. The resort is built in a tribute to past Vietnamese dynasties, with many stylistic elements derived from the houses of Hue, a capital city in Northern Vietnam. Influences can be seen in open courtyards, wood rafter ceilings, Champa sandstone sculptures, Dong Son bronze drums, Vietnamese calligraphy, clay tiled pitched roofs, silk embroideries, ceramics and royal purple fabrics.
All 49 villas at the resort have private pools, enhancing the modern aspect of the traditional Vietnamese detailing. The one-bedroom Beach Pool Villas feature timber sundecks, plush mattresses and modern amenities including LCD TVs, movies and music on demand, air conditioning, mini bar, and Wi-Fi. The even more high-end Lagoon Pool Villas offer everything found in the Beach Pool Villas, with the added benefit of being located next to a peaceful lagoon.
With so many luxury amenities, guests will be hard-pressed to want to leave their villa. Luckily, the Destination Dining option brings both a menu and a wait staff right to their door, so guests can indulge in fine dining and not miss a moment of the breathtaking views. Once visitors do decide to depart from their villa, the resort offers several dining options: Library, for snacks throughout the day; Saffron, for a modern twist on Thai food; Azura for Italian seafood; and The Watercourt, a French brasserie with a Vietnamese influence.
For some pampering both inside and out, head to Banyan Tree Spa Lang Co. The intimate spa takes cues from established Asian spa customs, blending romance with pure peacefulness. There is a beauty salon, yoga pavilion, six standard rooms, three deluxe rooms and one royal spa treatment room in which to experience special treatments that have been in practice and development for centuries. Healing herbs and spices, aromatic oils and organic botanicals can be found in many of the beauty and wellness services, offering both a physical and spiritual approach to complete relaxation.
