San Diego's Comic Con might be bigger and Portland's certainly a bit more weird, but Seattle's Comic Con has a living legend in tow, one Walter Koenig better known for his role as Ensign Pavel Chekov from the original Star Trek series. The famous star and idol of many a trekkie is just one of many features of the convention, but certainly one that may steal the show.

Star Trek has always had a special place in my heart. Yes, the effects were cheesy, but I loved the adventure and the themes of the series. And to this day, when I see an episode of the original series, I can picture my grandfather sitting next to me with a huge bowl of popcorn or ice-cream in his lap.

I had the pleasure of speaking to Walter Koenig, aka Ensign Pavel Chekov or original Star Trek fame today after the show.
