Marilyn Monroe Exhibit Draws Stars from Past and Present

Dior and The Weinstein Company, in partnership with Bert Stern, Staley-Wise Gallery and Milk, celebrated the opening of a new exhibition of photographs of Marilyn Monroe titled “Picturing Marilyn” last night at Milk Gallery in New York City, in preparation of the upcoming film My Week with Marilyn.

The exhibit showcases the life of Marilyn Monroe, whose life and death have become legendary.

The guests screened the film and viewed an exhibit featuring many never before seen images of Marilyn and the iconic Bert Stern photograph of Marilyn in a black Dior dress shot for Vogue magazine, which Dior recreated for the evening and was worn by Dree Hemingway. Also on display were photographs from the renowned shoot with Bert Stern that took place at the Bel-Air hotel in June 1962, now known as “The Last Sitting.”

Attendees included a who's who of Hollywood past and present: Bert Stern, Harvey Weinstein, Celeste Holm, Joan Copeland, Simon Curtis, Dominic Cooper, Georgina Chapman, Christie Brinkley, Vanessa Carlton, Keren Craig, Bruce Weber, Princess Khaliya Aga Khan, Harry Benson, Francesco Carrozzini, Peter Cincotti, Grace Coddington, Erin Fetherston, Timothy Greenfield-Sanders, Thaddeus Harden, Dree Hemingway, Beverly Johnson, Daisy Johnson, Calvin Klein, Nanette Lepore, John Buffalo Mailer, Michael Mailer, Jennifer Missoni, Max Osterweis, Trey Parker, Andrea Riseborough, Coco Rocha, Gabe Saporta, Behnaz Sarafpour, Ben Shenkman, Jessica Stam, Matt Stone, Olivier Theyskens, Imogen Lloyd Webber.

The exhibit of Marilyn is on display at Milk Gallery in New York City November 10th through November 13th 2011.
