While the 2011 TT RS comes in coupe and roadster versions, only the coupe will be available in the U.S market. The permanent four-wheel sports car is powered by a redesigned five-cylinder engine, which delivers big on both performance and fuel-efficiency. The turbo-charged FSI engine was developed exclusively for the revamped TT RS.
Its 360-horsepower engine delivers a zero-to-60 acceleration 4.6 seconds. It comes with a manual six-speed transmission only to complete its motorsports spirit. The car's aluminum body construction produces a low drag coefficient of 0.32. The new design features a front fascia with a honeycomb grill, a fixed rear wing, larger exhaust pipes, and lower side skirts.
Pricing is yet to be determined for the U.S.-bound TT RS coupe. It will be in the U.S. by third quarter 2011.
