Steven Spielberg Sets Up Cannes Headquarters Aboard His $200 Mi

Hollywood titan Steven Spielberg, president of the jury at the Cannes Film Festival this year, has established his headquarters for the famed event aboard his $200 million megayacht Seven Seas. The 282-foot vessel has accommodations and luxe amenities for 12 guests and a crew of 26, including a private owner's deck with a large master stateroom, a study and private terrace with a Jacuzzi. An infinity pool comes equipped with a 15-foot glass wall that doubles as a cinema screen — there's also an additional indoor cinema. Other luxury touches include a helipad, fully equipped gymnasium, a spa and a massage room. The director is also expected to throw an A-list party aboard his opulent yacht.

There was some speculation that Spielberg might in fact try to view the festival’s entries in his private screening room aboard the yacht. However, past Cannes president Robert De Niro threw cold water on that idea. “You have to be in the theaters,” the star told Hollywood News. “He can't watch them on a boat.” When Spielberg called De Niro for advice about chairing the festival, the actor says he told him, "Have fun with it.”

The Cannes Film Festival kicked off Wednesday with the gala European premiere of Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby.
