Luxury Cruises: Hi-ho, silver! The 11-day maiden cruise of the Silver Spirit, the Holiday Spirit, departed from the docks of Barcelona with a big splash. The 540-passenger, all-suite 36,000-ton vessel makes port stops in Malaga, Gibraltar, Cadiz, Casablanca, and Tangier while en route to its final destination in Lisbon. The Silver Spirit is the fifth ship of the company’s fleet of luxury cruisers, joining Silver Cloud, Silver Wind, Silver Shadow, and Silver Whisper.

Silversea Cruises is renowned for its luxurious all-suite ships that offer big-cruiser amenities on a smaller more intimate ship. Nearly all of the Silver Spirit’s suites have a private veranda. Additionally, there are six restaurants, four whirlpools, a resort-style swimming pool, and an 8,300-square-foot spa on board. The cruise line states that its newest ship offers the highest space-to-guest ratio available.
