Cowboy Star

Pull yourself up by your bootstraps and mosey on down to San Diego's East Village for a culinary journey back to the wild west at Cowboy Star. This restaurant, complete with adjoining butcher shop, offers up fine dining inspired by California's pioneer past.

There are a variety of entrees featuring selections from local farmers markets, but it is the hand-cut steaks straight from the butcher shop that allows Cowboy Star to shine. A variety of cuts are complemented by tough guy add-ons like roasted bone marrow.

It's easy to see why Cowboy Star has won so many awards. The meal we had here was great. We had the carpaccio to start and shared the entree dishes we ordered, including the pork belly, and a delicious chicken plate. mmmm mouth waters just typing this.....
