Reached by 30-minute seaplane from the airport, the archipelago is surrounded by a protected marine area where guests can easily spot dolphins, whale sharks, manta rays and coral reef under the surface.

Thirty over-water villas will make up the resort and will rest on stilts over the lagoon, while 20 additional residences will be located on the beach hidden amongst the greenery. Designed by local architect Mohamed Shafeeq, all accommodations come with private freshwater swimming pools, personal hosts and custom-made furnishings. Plus, each opens up 180 degrees to provide an airy indoor-outdoor atmosphere.

Milaidhoo will be home to three restaurants and two bars, with its signature eatery offering a modern interpretation of island-influenced cuisine. Four treatment suites inside a custom-built pavilion will also be situated over the lagoon, where guests can participate in meditation classes, yoga and spa therapies.

As of publication, rooms will begin at around USD $1,148 a night and are currently available for booking.
