There is beauty wherever you want to find it. In Montreal all you have to do is look up. Right now, the Montreal Gazette is promoting anyone to take pictures of their favorite architectural designs throughout the city and hidden in plain sight, then email in their findings. This is being done to help everyone appreciate the underlying beauty of Montreal and take in the history of their architectural diamonds in the rough.

Some of the city's best views are hidden in plain sight. You just have to look up!

From cat's paw prints in 150-year-old bricks to gargoyles galore, Montreal is awash in artifacts most of us miss as we trudge through our daily routine, eyes firmly fixed on the sidewalk.

At the ground-floor level, store windows lure us to feast our eyes on the latest get-ups and gadgets. But raise your gaze and you gain a whole new perspective on the city.
