If you have ever wanted to live in a goldfish bowl, then Camping in a Bubble just might be the perfect activity for you.
While it might not be everyone’s idea of luxury accomodations, Bubble tents are designed to get you in touch with nature, front and center. Obviously, these tents aren’t for the typical outdoor adventure. Instead, the bubble tents are glammed out to the max for the ultimate luxury camper who wants to truly sleep under the stars. The tents include amenities usually found in hotels: storage, lighting and even add-ons for children’s rooms or bathrooms.
Designer Pierre Stephane Dumas conceptualized the bubble tents as “unusual huts for unusual nights.” Indeed, with their plastic walls and dome shapes, the bubble tents don’t resemble anything near your usual camping gear.
He explains to the Daily Mail, “Having a night under the stars or seeing the sun rise and set is not something that many people experience anymore.
“A normal tent or camper van means people miss out on these things.
“So I designed this eccentric shelter with the aim of offering an unusual experience under the stars while keeping all the comfort of a bedroom suite.
“The ceiling of the bubble has the Milky Way, guests will be able to enjoy this as well as the extraordinary light variation of the sunset and sunrise.”
Models like the Cristal Bubble offer 360 views, but also reveal the interior of the tent thanks to the transparent material. But for those who would prefer not to be visible to any passersby, there is a version that is open only to the sky, allowing the tent’s occupants privacy while still providing a view.
On the outside, Bubble Trees are inflated keeping thier shape with an airlock and pump. Dumas says that noise from outside is kept to a minimum.
Few materials are used in the bubble tents; they are designed for maximum interaction with nature. No word on whether or not the structures’ lack of privacy has received complaints from neighboring campers.
