It’s nice to look your best at all times, but when you’re on vacation? Then it’s even more important. After all, there’s arguably no other time when you’ll be in more photographs than when you’re out there exploring a new and exciting spot! Plus, there’s just something all-out enjoyable about stepping out looking your absolute best when you know that you’re going to have an awesome day.
If you’ve got a trip coming up in the not-too-distant future, then this page is for you. We’ve put together a list of some of the best strategies for elevating your style game and ensuring that you always have a head-turning look when you’re on the road.
Pack Smart
There are three reasons to pack correctly. One, it’ll ensure that you have the right clothing with you. Two, it’ll prevent you from lugging around a suitcase that’s unnecessarily heavy. And three, it’ll ensure that your clothes aren’t all scrunched up and wrinkled when you go to put them on. Remember: a great t-shirt won’t look quite as good if it’s all creased! The rolling packing technique can help reduce wrinkles, but really, we’d say that you’re better off just packing a travel iron so you can freshen up your all-important clothing once you make it to the hotel.
Invest in Quality Essentials
Many vacationers end up packing a whole wardrobe of clothing, yet in the end, they find that they end up wearing the same items over and over. There’s really no point in transporting items that you’ll never wear! We’d recommend simply embracing that fact and only packing a small selection of high-grade essentials that you’ll be happy to wear on multiple days. A few quality t-shirts with simple designs, a couple of pairs of well-fitting shorts, and some comfortable footwear will ensure that you can easily rock a stylish outfit. While you might want to pack some slightly more formal clothing for any special dinners you plan to have, it’s the essentials that you’ll wear for the bulk of your trip, such as when you’re going to the beach or visiting attractions.
A Few Standout Pieces
As we said, the essentials will account for 80% of your outfits. The other 20% of your luggage should be dedicated to a couple of standout items of clothing that will be perfect for slightly more formal outings, such as rooftop cocktails or dinner at a swanky beach-view restaurant. For this, we’d recommend some longer trousers made from breathable materials (such as linen), a few nice shirts, and some Birkenstocks or similarly high-quality footwear.
Style Accessories
Finally, don’t forget your accessories! They can help to complete the look and take your outfit from ‘good’ to ‘great.’ A well-fitting hat and sunglasses are essential, though you can also play around with a few more decorative accessories, too, such as a bracelet or necklace. It’s a subtle way to easily step up your look, though just be sure to remove them before you dive into the swimming pool or ocean!
