Alfa Romeo Automobiles was founded on June 24, 1910, in Milan, Italy, and has been involved in car racing since 1911. Racing and winning is synonymous with Alfa Romeo: Five world championships with 11 Mille Miglia victories, seventeen European Touring Car Championships, plus countless other victories including the very first Formula 1 Championship. It was owned by Italian state holding company, Istituto per la Ricostruzione Industriale, between 1932 and 1986, when it became part of the Fiat Group. In February 2007, the Alfa Romeo brand was transformed into the current Alfa Romeo Automobiles S.p.A., a subsidiary of Fiat Group Automobiles S.p.A. Now, after 20 years abroad, Alfa Romeo USA makes its return to North America, bringing with it the same luxury, high-performance and seductive design it has been recognized for since 1910.
