Newest Louis Vuitton Boutique is Largest in Latin America

Fashionistas visiting or living in Cancun will be happy to learn that the luxury brand Louis Vuitton just opened its second location in the tropical destination. Located at La Isla Shopping Village, the label’s newest retail shop is the largest in Latin America. The new Louis Vuitton location is the first boutique to open in La Isla’s Fashion Harbour wing, which will host the shopping center’s high-end boutiques. To help celebrate the new store’s grand opening, Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr and Brazilian model Isabeli Fontana helped with the ribbon cutting on January 25.

Fendi Donates Over $3 Million Towards Renovation of Iconic Roman Fountains

It looks as though luxury brand Fendi is embracing its roots, as the company has just announced donations that will help restore two of Rome’s most iconic landmarks. A nearly $3 million gift from the brand will fund a 20-month project that will restore the crumbling Trevi Fountain by cleaning the façade and statues, re-waterproofing the main basin and replacing the gilded Latin inscriptions. Fendi will also help with the restoration of La Quattro Fontane, thanks to an additional donation of around $434,000. The label’s creative director, Karl Lagerfeld, will produce a series of photographs of famous Roman monuments to accompany the renovations.

$2.5 Million Fantasy Bra on Display in London

London has had a spectacular last couple of years, and it looks like England’s capital is starting 2013 off on the right foot. The $2.5 million Fantasy Bra worn by Victoria’s Secret Angel Alessandra Ambrosio at the brand’s 2012 fashion show is going on display at its new Bond Street location in London. The jewel-encrusted piece of lingerie and a matching belt are adorned with over 5,200 precious gemstones, including handset amethysts, sapphires, tsavorite, rubies, white, pink and yellow diamonds, which are all set in 18-karat rose and yellow gold. Laying at its center is an astonishing 20 carat white diamond.

H&M has brought in French actress and singer Vanessa Paradis as the face of its newest campaign for its Conscious collection. The fashion brand’s new line is apparently more eco-friendly than anything they’ve done in the past, made completely from sustainable materials (like organic cotton and recycled polyester) and is filled with ruffles and optimistic floral prints.

Karl Makes Another Controversial Statement, This Time on the Runway

Luxury designer Karl Lagerfeld made quite the statement today on the tails of a recent march in Paris that protested French president Francois Hollande’s plan to legalize gay marriage. Such a statement was made at Lagerfeld’s haute couture show for Chanel, during which the fashion maven sent two models hand-in-hand down the runway wearing couture bridal gowns. The pair of models, who walked with one of the designer’s young nephews, closed out the long-awaited show that occurred as a part of Paris Fashion Week. To make himself clear, when asked by the Associated Press if the act was made in support of gay marriage in France, Lagerfeld replied, “Of course it was.”
