One of the fastest-changing industries of the 2020s has undoubtedly been travel. From a precarious bounce back after the Pandemic to a boom in online booking platforms that have fundamentally changed the way we plan travel, the industry is in a state of flux that indicates new trends will soon make their way to the forefront of consumer consciousness.
The luxury industry, of course, leads the way in these trends. To further understand just how these new standards are being set, I sat down with Tal Maimon, CEO of The Maimon Group, a luxury vacation rental and concierge service that allows clients to rent mansion properties throughout California and Southern Florida, to hear his insights on the next major trends in luxury accommodations.
Tal, a luxury real estate and hospitality veteran, notes that the new standard for luxury travel is high-end rental properties. Citing the impersonal, imperfect nature of hotels, The Maimon Group offers 5-star accommodations with unparalleled privacy and comfort.

Susan Swendon (SS): Have you noticed a trend toward vacationers favoring rental properties over hotels?
Tal Maimon (TM): Yes, there’s a clear shift toward travelers choosing private luxury rentals over hotels. Today’s guests want more than just a beautiful place to stay—they want privacy, space, and an experience tailored to them. This trend reflects how luxury travel is evolving: it’s becoming more personal, experiential, and service-driven.
SS: What does this trend say about the current state of luxury travel?
TM: At The Maimon Group, we’ve built our entire model around that mindset. A luxury rental isn’t just about square footage or design; it’s about what happens inside the home—how it makes you feel. Guests book our properties because they want hotel-level service, but in an environment that feels like their own. From private chefs and events to transportation and concierge, we curate every detail around each guest’s lifestyle.
SS: What are the advantages of booking rental homes over other accommodation options?
TM: The advantage of renting a home is freedom. You can entertain, relax, and truly live in the destination. There’s no lobby line, no shared pool, no restrictions. You have the full attention of a team that anticipates what you’ll need before you ask.
SS: What sets The Maimon Group apart from other vacation rental services (Airbnb, VRBO, etc.)?
TM: What sets The Maimon Group apart is the combination of luxury hospitality standards with local expertise. We manage every part of the process—from permitting and guest relations to property care and staging. We don’t just rent homes; we transform them into experiences.
SS: Do you have any predictions for 2026 trends in the luxury rental market?
TM:Looking ahead to 2026, I believe the luxury rental market will continue to blur the line between hospitality and real estate. We’ll see more personalized stays, exclusive collaborations with brands, and a stronger focus on wellness and sustainability. The future of luxury travel isn’t about where you sleep—it’s about how the experience makes you feel.

As luxury travel continues to evolve, it certainly seems that The Mainmon Group and its contemporaries will be leading the charge. While the industry has seen many changes throughout the first half of the decade, one trend that never goes out of style in hospitality is creating experiences that last a lifetime.
