The stylist and master colorist has been covering women’s gray hair for more than 20 years and introduced the natural yogurt color to his salon about a year ago. One of the only salons in the state to offer it, Vitale has seen a significant increase in recent requests for the more natural color. “Once people realize we are offering the NaYo, they are opting for it,” he said. “People are looking for a more natural way to color their hair and this product does that without all of the chemicals.”
The healthier option to traditional hair color is free of PPD, ammonia and unpleasant odors and provides 100 percent gray coverage. The product costs a little more than traditional color but provides a more natural look without all of the traditional chemicals associated with coloring.
NaYo ammonia-free hair color is made with organic calendula to deliver a calming effect, flax to restore moisture and shine, and yogurt extract to protect the hair. The result? A uniform color that lasts up to six weeks on your silky hair. Vitale also has his own natural product line free of sulfates and sodium chloride called Anthony David. All of the products used in his salon are free of sulfates, parabens and sodium chloride.

On April 25, Vitale will display his artistic side with an evening of art and photography to benefit Massachusetts Vest-a-Dog, Inc. an independent, all-volunteer, non-profit organization, that supports Massachusetts police dogs by helping provide essential equipment, especially bulletproof K9 vests. Vitale’s art will be on hand alongside photography by Nicole Vecchi. The goal of the evening is to raise enough money to purchase a specialized SWAT bulletproof vest for Burlington police dog, K-9 Havoc, from the sale of the art. K-9 Havoc and his handler, Officer Papsedero will also be on hand. The event is being held at his studio from 7 to 9 p.m.
Anthony David Salon is located at 120 Cambridge Street, Burlington, MA. To make an appointment, call (781) 272-0002 or visit AnthonyDavidBurlington.com.
