Kimpton Aysla: Where Modern Luxury Meets Garden Serenity in Mallorca
If it seems like everyone on your Instagram feed visited Mallorca this past summer, you’re not imagining it. The island is having a major moment, drawing travelers with its sun-soaked beaches, boutique hotels, and a culinary scene that’s as vibrant as its turquoise waters. Beyond the island’s beautiful coast, Mallorca’s charming villages, lush vineyards, and rugged mountain landscapes offer a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation, making it a destination that feels both effortlessly chic and endlessly inviting. Early fall is a wonderful time to visit Mallorca, with warm seas, golden light, and fewer crowds along its stunning coastlines.

Tucked away in the serene town of Santa Ponsa, just a 25-minute drive from Palma de Mallorca (PMI) International Airport, the Kimpton Aysla Mallorca offers a fresh and inspired take on the island’s luxury hotel scene. With only 79 rooms and suites, the property exudes boutique intimacy while making a bold design statement, seamlessly blending modern Mediterranean architecture with lush landscaping and a forward-thinking aesthetic that celebrates light, art, and lots of nature.

Located adjacent to Golf Santa Ponsa and near Mallorca Country Club, the resort is just a short drive from Palma yet a world away in atmosphere. Guests are greeted by clean-lined architecture from Spanish designer Guillermo Reynés, where airy interiors and vibrant gardens create an instant sense of calm. Pops of citrus and aqua hues, along with local art installations, infuse a playful spirit into the serene backdrop.

Every room at Kimpton Aysla opens onto a private terrace or garden, ensuring a connection to the outdoors. Inside, a neutral palette is lifted by lively accents, while thoughtful details such Bang & Olufsen speakers, locally inspired minibar treats, espresso machines, and Codage Paris bath amenities, elevate the experience. Bathrooms feel more like mini spas, with deep soaking tubs and rainfall showers designed for true relaxation.
Wellness is woven into the DNA of this property. The resort is home to Spain’s first Maison CODAGE spa, one of the largest on the island. Here, guests can indulge in personalized treatments, detox in the salt cave, or unwind in the steam and sauna rooms. Three outdoor pools (including a serene adults-only option) and Mallorca’s largest indoor heated pool provide ample opportunities for a dip, while a state-of-the-art fitness center and daily yoga, Pilates, and meditation classes keep active travelers engaged.

Food and drink are equally impressive on-site at the property. Saba Restaurant serves up a Spanish-Asian fusion menu with flair, where dishes like grilled artichoke kimchi and miso eggplant feel as vibrant as the setting. For a more casual vibe, Zayt Poolside delivers fresh Mediterranean tapas crafted for indulgent afternoons and intimate moments shared with loved ones. As with every Kimpton, the nightly social hour is a highlight… bringing guests together over local wines in a convivial setting.

True to the brand’s ethos, Kimpton Aysla goes beyond the expected. Guests can borrow cruiser bikes and longboards to explore the area, join workshops in ceramics or chocolate-making, or take advantage of nearby golf and tennis facilities. The pre-arrival concierge ensures each stay feels tailored, with small touches and personalization that set the tone even before check-in. The intimate scale of the hotel fosters a relaxed, boutique-style atmosphere where staff remember names and preferences.

The hotel's concierge expertly handles everything, securing hard-to-get dinner reservations, coordinating effortless transportation, unveiling insider island experiences that few travelers discover, and crafting experiences that feel truly bespoke. Dinner at La Illeta in Mallorca, seamlessly arranged by the Kimpton, was a true culinary highlight during our trip. Perched on a sun-drenched small island cliff overlooking the sparkling Mediterranean, the restaurant offers exquisite seafood and Mediterranean dishes crafted with the freshest local ingredients. The stunning views, impeccable service, and elegant ambiance made it an unforgettable dining experience that perfectly captured the island’s charm. Another island highlight was exploring Port Andratx at sunset—discovering charming local boutiques, savoring a memorable meal at Latitude 39, and strolling along the rocky shore with ice cream in hand made for an evening we’ll long treasure.

The Kimpton Aysla Mallorca celebrates intimate luxury. The property is all about curated comfort, creative cuisine, and a wellness-first philosophy. For couples, solo travelers, and even families (like ours!) looking for a rejuvenating escape with modern flair, it’s a very compelling choice. The Kimpton Aysla Mallorca is a stylish sanctuary where wellness and design meet, redefining what boutique luxury can look like on the big Balearic Island.
