St. Regis Hotels & Resorts Unveils Signature Aficionado Experiences Offering Exclusive Access to Extraordinary Events

Through partnerships with some of the world’s most acclaimed influencers and brands, including Verdura, Fendi and Porsche, St. Regis has created a series of unprecedented events tailored to its most discerning guests. Available throughout the year with new experiences added each season, St. Regis’ Aficionado program is designed to provide guests access to once-in-a-lifetime experiences and extraordinary events at the best addresses in the world.

St. Regis Aficionado offers guests a multitude of unique food and wine experiences such as the rare opportunity to taste the world’s most distinguished private label cognacs, such as the historic 1811 Roi De Rome and 1947 Menuet, exclusively available at The Lanesborough, a St. Regis Hotel. While at The St. Regis Mexico City, guests are offered a private tour of the charming San Juan market led by the hotel’s chef followed by a personal tour of his kitchen and an intimate dinner paired with premium tequila. At The St. Regis Washington D.C., guests can enjoy a selection of signature items crafted by Adour Alain Ducasse‘s Executive Chef Julien Jouhannaud and an exquisite nine-course dinner personally prepared by the chef following an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at his kitchen.

Available May 5 – August 15, 2010, The St. Regis New York introduces an Aficionado Costume Institute experience celebrating The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute exhibition, American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity. As part of this Aficionado offer, guests are invited to experience a private guided tour led by a member of the Metropolitan’s curatorial department, a chauffeured ride to and from the exhibit in the St. Regis Flying Spur Bentley and an exclusive shopping experience curated by influential stylist Cameron Silver. The shopping experience begins with visits to fashion destinations, stores and showrooms throughout the city including Judith Leiber, Verdura, Philip Lim and the high-end vintage boutiques FROCK followed by a night in The St. Regis New York’s custom designed Bottega Veneta luxury suite.

Other experiences available throughout the year and devoted to the pursuit of style, include a tour of Fendi’s design studios and the opportunity to custom design a coat available at The St. Regis Grand Hotel, Rome; a private consultation with celebrated style concierge Sid Mashburn available at The St. Regis Atlanta, and a personalized luxury shopping spree featuring private showings at Prada, Gucci and more, available at The St. Regis Aspen Resort.

Additionally, St. Regis Aficionado presents a number of bespoke experiences highlighting art and architecture. Available all year long, The St. Regis Grand Hotel, Rome offers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the Vatican Museum and guests at The St. Regis Beijing can embark on a tour of the Forbidden City’s most extraordinary architecture. Also available throughout the year, The St. Regis Mexico City offers the opportunity for a private viewing of more than 3,400 works of Mexican Art at the Museo de Arte Popular as well as a tour of the private art collection of Isaak Kanarek, the largest of its kind in Latin America.

For the sports enthusiast, Aficionado introduces numerous exciting experiences for St. Regis guests. The St. Regis San Francisco presents the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to skate the ice with legendary figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi and NHL star Bret Hedican available through the end of May, and The Lanesborough, a St. Regis Hotel, invites guests to experience celebrated polo event, The St. Regis International Cup. Through St. Regis’ partnership with American Express, the official card of St. Regis polo, guests will have access to a personal stylist and shopper to get dressed for the exhilarating polo event as well as exclusive VIP access and seating at the match. Additionally, The St. Regis Bali Resort treats guests to a day of golf on their magnificent course, graced by Nick Faldo, Vijay Singh, and more of the game’s best, concluded with a luxurious and holistic treatment at Remède Spa. Both experiences are available anytime of the year.
