New York Shopping: In keeping with its rich heritage of leather goods, Hermes has introduced a new leather floor into its flagship Madison Avenue store, just in time to herald the arrival of the limited edition So-Black collection to the States.
Designed by RDAI, the Parisian architectural agency founded by Rena Dumas, the 2,000-square-foot floor encompasses all the luxurious Hermes leather products for the past two centuries. The new leather floor is a contemporary yet timelessly elegant twist on the landmark Hermès store at 24 Faubourg Saint-Honoré. The new floor also includes other elegant accents including cherry wood shelving and limestone tiled flooring and sliding glass wall cases from floor to ceiling around the spiral staircase.
The opening of the Hermes leather floor also marked the United States launch of the limited edition So-Black handbag collection and the mini Constance bags in satin.
