Houston Awes With Art Car Parade

Some see every car as a work of art, but the Houston Art Car parade has shown that for others, every car is a canvas just waiting to be filled. Featuring a suite of custom-made or decorated cars and other vehicles, everything from seashells to shoehorns appeared in the parade's impressive array of art and expression.

Rain didn’t stop the parade, though it tried.

The 26th annual Houston Art Car Parade cruised down Allen Parkway on Saturday after heavy showers in the early morning postponed the parade start.

The Legendary Art Car Ball was cancelled Friday due to severe weather throughout Houston and flooding at the Orange Show, but that didn’t dampen spirits at the parade.

People crowded the street, waiting for the parade to start, and many spectators walked among the art cars, taking pictures and talking to the owners.
