Homewood Suites Dallas Downtown, which is taking shape inside a formerly vacant office building, is set to open this fall.
The hotel, featuring 130 suites with kitchens and full-size appliances, will be the only property in the Hilton family in downtown Dallas. Itís also the first hotel to open downtown since the city-owned Omni Dallas Hotel in 2011.
The Homewood Suites hotel, 1025 Elm St., will occupy a space built in the 1920s that was formerly the United Fidelity Life Insurance Building.
In 2011, Irving-based Lowen Hospitality Management bought the property out of foreclosure after it sat vacant for more than a decade.
