A luxurious stay at the St. Regis Resort Bali

The elegant living room in a Gardenia Villa

St. Regis Bali Resort

Inspired by the distinctive iconic century-old heritage of John Jacob Astor, the St. Regis Bali Resort is an address that extends the legacy of excellence to the island of Bali. Located on the exclusive pristine beach in the refined enclave of Nusa Dua, the St. Regis Bali Resort boasts the only all suites and villa resort nestled in the heart of the noteworthy “Garden of Bali”. Combining understated barefoot elegance with Balinese-inspired living, the Resort offerspanoramic views of the Indian Ocean on a stunning beachfront of powdery white sand.

What makes the resort stand out is the spaciousness and the pervasiveness of water throughout. There are 123 Suites and Villas here, each offering elegant residential style accommodation in a contemporary Balinese décor. They are spread out across nine hectares of tropical gardens, so there is a true air of privacy and exclusivity. Every guest is given complimentary airport transfers, Wi-Fi and the bespoke 24-hour Butler Service (which includes packing and unpacking luggage, garment pressing, and many other services besides).  Our Gardenia villa was divine – flawlessly designed with high ceilings, smooth mahogany wood floors and separate butler’s quarters. Lagoon Villas offer private access to the resort’s azure lagoon (over 3600sqm of salt water), and the beachfront Strand Villas overlook the Indian Ocean.

For epicures, the hotel is a veritable delight. There are multifarious options:Asian inspired Haute Cuisine at beachfront restaurant Kayuputi, enchanting traditional Indonesian Rijstaffel dining under Dulang’s gazebo,Boneka‘ssumptuous fare of continental delicacies, and Gourmand Deli, one of a kind bistro for an array of international fine foods. King Cole bar provides an ideal place to reminisce while the Vista Bar seduces with its magnificent beach location and its swim up bar.

The glorious Astor Ballroom offers the perfect venue for both exclusive black tie gala events and corporate meetings, whilst Newport and John Jacob IV make ideal venues for board director meetings.Overlooking the breathtaking ocean, Cloud Nine Chapel provides an unparalleled setting for a beachfront ceremony.

The Remède spa is a tranquil sanctuary for those seeking rejuvenation and relaxation.Sitting on a Koi pond, it combines traditional Balinese or holistic treatments with cutting edge spa technology.I had a sensational Balinese ritual treatment during which my body was reduced to pulp. I then enjoyed a wonderful pampering session of thalassotherapy in the Aqua Vitale Pool. Astate of the art Fitness Club wellness program includes meditation and yoga on the beach, Tai Chi and breathing exercises in the Amphitheater. My husband and I enjoyed a daily pre-breakfast workout, and especially appreciated the fridge-chilled towels in the gym.

For the younger connoisseurs, there is plenty of entertainment. Kids from 4 to 12 years old are kept busy with fun-filled activities at the Children’s Learning Center with unique half and full day programs. Through art, music, dance, cuisine and literary enjoyment, children will take home a memory of Bali and its culture.

For me, what truly sets the St. Regis Bali Resort apart is the bespoke service and the uncompromising attention to detail. To give an example: the night before we checked out, I emailed our Butler, Putra, with a request for a document to be printed. In less than 10 minutes, an envelope arrived at the door with the requested printing inside. The level of personal attention here is flawless, and this makes it, without question, the best address in Bali.
