About a year ago, I decided it was time to test the waters out and put my thoughts, ideas, and dream to paper. I discussed in length with one of my sisters', who is also my business partner about starting a luxury boutique for shoe lovers or should I say fashionistas.
Impulsive and passionately, I delved into first signing up for tradeshows in NYC as well as the suggested retailer publications (W, WWD, and Footwear News). I have always fancied the look of fashion and style, even though I am fairly conservative in my indidvidual style.
Fast forward, we attended two tradeshows and decided it was time to step up the game and go to the international tradeshow (MICAM) which takes place in Fiera Milano City in Italy in March and September. We booked our tickets and registered at least 5 months in advance. In the interim, we discussed and reseached some ideas on how this venture would work.
It all became so real in Italy, we connected with several designers for both men and women styles. We returned to NY focused and determined to launch our site for the prefall season.
