King Richard's Faire Returns to Massachusetts

The fall is here, which can only mean one thing – the return of the King Richard’s Faire in Carver, Mass.  The long-running Renaissance Festival runs weekends now through October 19.

 

Located on 80 acres of forest off Route 58 in Carver, Mass., about an hour south of Boston, the Faire is open 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. each weekend day. Here, attendees can watch the King’s daring knights joust on horseback, listen to musicians, and enjoy a funday of live, interactive entertainment for all ages. There are stages with entertainers At every turn, guests will encounter fantasy and fun on eight stages filled with entertainers performing song and dance, stunts and storytelling, minstrels, acrobats, jugglers, stilt walkers, and even giant life-size puppets. There is also a liger cubs exhibition.

 

Every Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m., the King's Stage offers special themed contests and events to add variety to each week’s entertainment lineup:

 

·  Sat. Sept. 27: Game of Thrones Ascent Costume and Trivia Contest

·  Sat. Oct. 5: Men in Kilts/Ladies in Bloomers Contest

·  Sat. Oct. 11: Children's Fairies and Pirates Costume Contest

·  Sat. Oct. 18: Adult Costume/CosPlay Costume Contest

 

Guests can mingle with the King and his royal court, noble and not-so-noble subjects, and talented performers. When as famished as a mud beggar, tantalize taste buds with the Faire's delicious spit-roasted turkey legs, buttery ears of spit-roasted corn, boules filled with chowder and stew, ringlets of fries, and quench thy thirst with champagne, wine and brew.  Shoppers can stroll through the 16th century village filled with handmade wares from more than 100 unique and talented artisans, including many local New England artists.

 

Tickets are $29 for adults (12+) and $16 for children ages 4-11 and are available for purchase now on the Faire's website (kingrichardsfaire.net). Children under 4 are free, and parking is free.  Discounts given to groups of 25 adults or more and private parties can be accommodated, including adult/children's birthdays, vow renewal ceremonies, weddings, and corporate events.
