Spring Blooms at the Rosewood Miramar Beach Resort

Jill Weinlein

Santa Barbara County has a new oceanfront luxury resort that just opened in time for Easter. Located 80 miles northwest of Los Angeles, in the affluent town of Montecito, is one of Rosewood Hotels newest darlings, the Miramar Beach Resort.

Developer Rick Caruso along with Rosewood Hotels & Resorts President Radha Arora, recently hosted a ribbon cutting reception for apporxiamtely 150 guests. Afterwards, invitees were welcome to experience the formal East Coast designed Manor House, and walk along the 16 acres of blooming gardens.

Guests staying in one of exquisitely decorated guest rooms, cottages or suites, enjoy numerous amenities including two heated swimming pools, dining terraces, a fitness center, bicycles, restaurants, bars, an ice cream Scoop shop, GOOP shop, and miles of rolling Pacific Ocean waves and sand to play, take a walk, swim, paddle board or kayak.

Each of the 124 rooms and 37 suites offer light, airy and designer comfortable accommodations with furnished outdoor patios and terraces. The views range from garden, mountain and ocean front views of the Channel Islands from sunrise to sunset.

Every member of the family is invited to stay at the resort, including four-legged friends. This pet-friendly resort accommodates dogs of all sizes for a $125 per pet, per stay fee. The resort offers daily dog walking services, a custom pet menu, and exclusive pet products and amenities. Owner Rick Caruso's dog Dodge may even be at the resort to lead a special afternoon pet trek.

Between the Manor House and the Beach House are two swimming pools, one for adults with a scalloped edge, and a lively family pool with yellow and white cabanas. Near the grand lawn are shuffle board and bocce ball courts.

At the ocean front, fine dining restaurant Caruso’s, Chef Massimo prepares a Southern Italy menu sourced from neighboring farmers, fisherman and ranchers. Open for dinner, each course can be paired with a glass or bottle of hyper-local Santa Barbara County and international wines.

Above the restaurant is the Miramar Beach Bar serving drinks and bites under twinkle lights and flickering fire pits in the evening. Below beach butlers assist guests with complimentary chairs, umbrellas and beach watersports.

Beginning mid April through Easter, Rosewood Miramar Beach offers families a Bunny Bungalow afternoon for crafts, face painting, a bunny petting zoo, and build your own Easter Baskets. Located adjacent to Malibu Farm, the all-day farm-to-table dining concept and across from Manor Pool, the Easter Bunny will make an appearance and pose for photo opportunities.

On Easter Sunday, guests and visitors with reservations can enjoy an elegant buffet brunch with beverage stations, followed by Easter egg hunts, crafting, face painting, and a day on the beach. Guests can also splurge on a decadent four-course, prix fixe brunch overlooking the Pacific Ocean from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
