Think Big, Big Cedar Lodge That Is

If there ever was a place that has something for everyone, Big Cedar Lodge would be it. A wooded, scenic retreat — you even have to drive through a stream of water to get there — this world class resort makes a romantic getaway easy or a family gathering memorable.

The stunning rustic resort exudes a “Disneyesque” quality of carefully thought out artistic detailing. This is no surprise as its owner, Johnny Morris, is the creator of Bass Pro Shops. Big Cedar Lodge is also conveniently located in Ridgedale, Missouri. It is in the heart of the Midwest, just ten miles south of Branson, Missouri on Table Rock Lake and tucked into the wooded hillsides of the Ozark Mountains. This central location makes the resort less than a day’s drive for more than one-third of all Americans. Nearby airports include the Branson Airport, and Springfield-Branson National Airport as well as numerous airports which offer private flight options.

Big Cedar Lodge may be accessible, but it’s its anything but mundane! There are activities here to not only entertain, but enthrall guests of all ages, from the very oldest to the youngest. Enjoy relaxing days at the spa, or soaking up the sun with beautiful Table Rock Lake in the background. And don’t forget the delectable dining choices including the Worman House famous for their elaborate Champagne Sunday brunch. Nightly entertainment at the Buzzard Bar offers an intimate setting for friends to gather. Table Rock Lake offers world-class fishing, or just take a boat out for the afternoon. And if you like to golf, the Top of The Rock offers a one-of-a-kind golfing experience.

The 300-acre property, once the estates of business entrepreneur Jude Simmons and Frisco Railroad executive Harry Worman, is spread out along the Long Creek arm of the White River known as Big Cedar Hollow. Simmons created a log mansion, reminiscent of the grand wilderness hunting lodges found in the Adirondacks, while Worman constructed a Tudor style retreat of stone and stucco. Following Bass Pro Shops’ acquisition of the property in 1987, founder Johnny Morris restored the Simmons and Worman buildings to their original prominence.

There are several lodges to choose from on the property, each filled with antique furnishings and wildlife art; but the incredibly romantic lakefront cabins each have their own fireplace, hot tub, and private deck all your own! Every detail has been thoroughly researched for your convenience and delight, right down to the lodge style furnishings and luxurious beds, most of which are handcrafted. Big Cedar Lodge’s new Adirondack style conference center provides gorgeous sunsets and breathtaking views of Table Rock Lake.

So next time you find yourself looking for a convenient getaway where every need will be met, check into Big Cedar Lodge; it won’t disappoint.
