Why You Should See Fall Colors in France Now

camille-moirenc

As if France wasn't charming enough, Fall season with its vibrant colors is the best time to visit. The summer crowds have disappeared, tables at the best restaurants become available and hotels offer great deals. Most importantly, seeing French cities and villages touting bright reds, yellows, and oranges is breathtaking. An added benefit: there is still last-minute hotel availability. From cycling around the South of France to embracing the white wines of Loire Valley and walking the treelined streets of Paris, there's no shortage of great places in France for leaf-peeping this fall. Here are some insider tips from the Maisons Pariente team:

Autumn is a special time in Paris and walking its major parks and gardens for the best opportunities to see fall foliage. Jardin Des Tuileries is a popular choice but insiders head out to the 19th Arrondissement in northeastern Paris to experience 60+ acres of sprawling forests in Parc des Buttes-Chaumont without all the tourist crowds. Bois de Boulogne is often called "The Lung of Paris" because of its number of trees and the oxygen they produce. The bois is a Parisian's playground — there are lakes, waterfalls and picnic areas. Not far away, travelers can also sneak a peek at Maisons Pariente’s newest hotel, Le Grand Mazarin opening in Le Marais district in early 2023.
