With a mission to inspire more people to read, WonderWorks Panama City Beach is partnering with local libraries during National Library Week. From April 3-9, 2022, those who sign up for a library card at participating locations will have the chance to win a free ticket to WonderWorks Panama City.

“We’re excited to launch another round of our National Library Week partnership. Much like our slogan, reading lets the imagination run wild. We couldn't be prouder to work with our community partners to encourage reading in the PCB area,” says Paula Fredrick, education sales manager at WonderWorks Panama City Beach.

Having celebrated National Library Week with local libraries in the past, WonderWorks is happy to continue the program in 2022. This partnership fits perfectly with their mission of sparking the imagination and inspiring the next generation of scientists, scholars and leaders.

In addition to scoring free tickets by signing up for a library card, people can participate in the national week on their own by visiting their local library to see what is new and check out an exciting read. Additionally, they can post about unique and exciting finds during their visit on their social media using #MyLibrary, and they can follow their favorite libraries on their online platforms. These efforts will help spread the message about local libraries' vital role in the Panama City Beach area.

According to the American Library Association, the first public library in the U.S. was founded in Philadelphia in November 1731 by Benjamin Franklin and was supported on a subscription basis. The first free public library was opened in 1833 in New Hampshire. Today, there are nearly 117,000 libraries around the country.

To continue push its STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) focus, WonderWorks Panama City Beach is also opening a new STEM room. The new interactive area will include fun, education-focused exhibits, offering things like the opportunity to learn more about shark anatomy and speed. They are also expanding the Physical Challenge Zone with a family-friendly Twister exhibit, offering a digital version of the popular 1960s game. Additionally, WonderWorks Panama City recently launched tnew Playbox attraction, which encourages guests to use their hand-eye coordination in a competitive manner.

“Our new STEM room is a great place to dig deeper on some of the STEM topics covered throughout our building,” says Adam Kimball, general manager of WonderWorks Panama City Beach. “Everything we do here at WonderWorks is rooted in STEM and education, so we're looking forward to launching our newest endeavor."

WonderWorks Panama City Beach offers many STEM-related exhibits and activities all year long for locals and visitors to experience. Activities and events also include demonstrations, educational field trips, science fair partnerships, homeschool days, art contests, and more.To get more information about WonderWorks’ STEM programs, visit its website:
