Berry Brown Pairs Everyday Function With Vintage Fashion

For women, bags are an extension of themselves. We carry leopard clutches, studded hobos and neon crossbodys, but when we’re not heading out for a night with the girls we need something functional. Something fun, sleek, big enough to carry the kitchen sink or at the very least our iPads. Giving your shoulder something new to wear, the Berry Brown debut collection is filled with large totes, satchels and crossbodys that could fit more than just your wallet. Quality craftsmanship and an artistic aesthetic give these bags a vibe that will leave you wondering where they’ve been all your life.
New York designer Berry Brown encapsulates the meaning of American made with her introduction of her new purse collection. Handmade in New York and inspired by the artwork, furnishing and textiles of the city, Brown set out to create a line that would be a women’s “go to piece that adds charm, ease, and functionality to the everyday.” With this collection the beauty is in the details, bone leather with lavender piping, lush red with golden prints, and monochromatic browns with bright orange handles. Brown’s inspiration is easily visible in the contrast piping and silk screened patterns that are so reminiscent of vintage wallpaper.
Fashion meets function with the merging of contemporary and traditional shapes and colors. Although not covered in ombre leather and metal studs (which aren’t really suited for the office anyway) the brightly colored bags will still make your outfit pop, especially going into the fall and winter months. While not suggesting you give up your leopard clutch, a little simplicity in accessories can be a good thing; plus it’s nice to have a favorite bag that can carry a wallet, cell and the latest issue of Vogue.

Berry Brown handbags are available exclusively online and are priced from $375-$1,975.
