The Saint Laurent Music Project campaign is about as big as they come. Icons like Courtney Love, Daft Punk and Marilyn Manson have all sat for the lens of Hedi Slimane, and his latest muse is none other than legendary singer/songwriter Joni Mitchell. This campaign was revealed the day after Joan Didon was announced as the Spring 15 face of Céline, making for an interesting trend in casting older, self-made, well-established women in larger campaign roles. But whether Mitchell was snapped for the beauty of her age or the timeless awesomeness of her music almost doesn’t matter, because we are loving this campaign.
Photographed by Slimane at her home in Bel Air, Michtell poses in her wide brimmed hat, long straight locks and guitar in hand. In the three black and white images Mitchell rocks a tunic from the YSL folk collection and a leather cape (reportedly made especially for her by Slimane himself) while strumming along on her guitar.
