United Airlines new luxury Polaris Business Class

Flying on one of the premium cabin United Polaris jets is a new level of luxury travel experiences from the lounge to arrival.

The new United Polaris Lounges are currently available at Chicago O’Hare, Houston Intercontinental, Los Angeles, New York/Newark and San Francisco for first and business class international flights. Additional United Polaris lounges are opening soon at Washington Dulles, Hong Kong, London Heathrow and Tokyo Narita.

United’s Boeing 777-300s airplanes are the first airplanes to debut the new Polaris product and they are adding more than 1,600 United Polaris® business class and United First® seats to nearly 250 international and domestic aircraft.

The minute you walk onto the plane, travelers will notice their seat has packages of Saks Fifth Avenue bedding. This luxury brand partnership offers custom bedding for United Polaris passengers. Besides a choice of two different pillows, one large soft and a smaller memory foam, there is also a soft light blanket, and a high thread count quilted duvet.

The ergonomically designed seat offers fully customizable recline and foot-rest options, converting from an upright seat to a 180-degree flat 6 foot, 6-inch bed, or anything your prefer in between. Saks Fifth Avenue flat bed mattress toppers are also available upon request for extra comfort when the seat is transformed into an onboard bed.

Each seat also has a sleep-themed amenity zipper bag filled with premium Sunday Riley skincare items. These products keep travelers face, hands and lips feeling refreshed and moisturized throughout the flight. Earplugs and an ergonomic eye mask help block out light and sound for a more comfortable sleep. On flights longer than 12 hours, travelers can request pajamas.

Also at the seat are premium noise-reducing headphones and an entertainment system that offers guided meditations and soothing sounds.

Once settled in a Polaris seat, flight attendants offer sparkling wine, juice or water to sip while looking over a multi-course menu. In collaboration with The Trotter Project, United Executive Chefs create options that include fresh fish, chicken, pasta, and beef entrees that rotate every month.

A sample menu includes a starter of either smoked duck and a faro salad enhanced with dried cranberries, brined carrots and whole grain mustard, or a mesclun salad with mozzarella, grape tomatoes and olives. A bread basket filled with four different types of bread and artisan rolls is offered during this course and again after the entree is delivered. Entree items might include seared beef short rib; Ginseng chicken bowl; seared salmon or ravioli with a parmesan cream sauce.

Master Sommelier and Master of Wine Doug Frost curated a selection of red wines, white wines and champagne. Vintages change daily. Well drinks and spirits include Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Bombay Sapphire Gin, Barcardi Rum, Dewar’s White Label and Glenfarclas Scotch, Wheatley Craft Distilled Vodka, Jack Daniel’s Whiskey, Bailey’s Irish Cream, Disaronno Amaretto and Courvoisier VS.

For those eager to sleep, travelers can receive all their courses or select items to be presented upon request.

Desserts include a signature sundae cart with bowls of vanilla ice cream and a choice of toppings, along with Ghirardelli hot fudge and sea salt caramel sauce. There are bite-sized pastries, and an International cheese plate with grapes, crackers and a snifter of port.

For connecting flights and layovers, customers can visit United Polaris lounges to prepare for an enjoyable flight. Inside there is soft lighting, daybeds in a relaxation area and showers with Sunday Riley products. 

Pre-flight dining option include hot and cold items or seated meal service. Beverage choices include curated wines, premium spirits, craft beer selections and handcrafted cocktails.

If there is not a Polaris lounge available at your departure airport, you'll have access to United ClubSM locations and other partner lounges.
