Space Perspective: A Gentle View Of Space Tourism

Jul. 1st, 2021

Recently, Space Perspective, the world’s first luxury spaceflight experience company announced reservations are now open for travel adventurers by booking a spot on a series of six-hour, history-making flights to space, set to take off as soon as Q4 2024 and with tickets priced at $125,000 each.

Space Perspective is the world’s first luxury spaceflight experience company. It is committed to changing people’s view and perceptions of Earth. Using a high-performance balloon and pressurized capsule technology that gently travels to and from the edge of space over a six-hour period, the spacecraft offers opportunities for groundbreaking research and life-changing travel experiences for world explorers. Space Perspective is led by a team of professionals that have developed or operated all human balloon flights to the edge of space in the last 50 years.

The company is inviting more people than has previously been possible to experience a new perspective of panoramic views of Earth in space. Space Perspective will escort clientele to space via Spaceship Neptune.

The market has the potential to be robust, according to the analysts. In a note to investors, Ken Herbert and Austin Moeller, analysts at Canaccord Genuity, a Canadian Wealth Management firm, wrote the suborbital space tourism market could be worth $8 billion by 2030, if the 1 million potential customers, wealthy enough to afford the ticket price, were willing to go. Yet, it is also noted that right now, the rides currently offered are open to a few early adopters who need to train and dress like professional astronauts.

Space Perspective’s mission is different: it is to transform private space travel with a gentler approach: a six-hour journey onboard Spaceship Neptune, which is propelled at a leisurely 12 mph by a high-performance, state-of-the-art space balloon the size of a football field. Once the capsule reaches the gliding altitude of 100,000 feet, it will float there for two hours so travelers can soak in, capture and share live the extraordinary 360-degree views of planet Earth (up to 450 miles in every direction). There is no advance training, special clothing or equipment required.

Industry luminaries Jane Poynter and Taber MacCallum, Founders and Co-CEOs, are supported by a world class, hand-picked crew who has been instrumental in all human space balloon flights for the last 50 years. Poynter and MacCallum have been dubbed ‘masters of the stratosphere’ by Bloomberg Businessweek.

With unprecedented repeat flights in controlled conditions, Space Perspective will propel ambitious, ground-breaking work in both the research and creative sectors. Studies will be undertaken in climate and upper- atmosphere science, astro and solar physics, and astronomy.

Flights with Space Perspective will be first launched departing from Florida and extending worldwide as the company grows.

Refundable reservation deposits are available on a tiered system, with a higher deposit level for flights planned in year one and decreasing for future year flights. Space Explorer benefits include invitations to exclusive events, curated insider tours intended to build community and maximize engagement.

Space Perspective heralds a new era, by providing one luxury travel experience that will be remembered always, knowing the thrill of space exploration all the while with the world’s most comfortable and gentle voyage.
