A luxurious Victorian mansion in London’s exclusive Holland Park, known for high-profile residents like Virgin billionaire Richard Branson, entertainment mogul Simon Cowell and actor Kenneth Branagh, has been listed for sale by Christie’s International Real Estate affiliate Strutt & Parker for £19.5 million (about $30 million).
The gentlemanly double-fronted residence features seven bedrooms and eight baths with 7,800 square feet of living space over three floors and a separate carriage house. The property is set behind a gated carriage driveway with space for outdoor entertaining, a west facing garden and indoor swimming pool with a glass roof, a rare luxury in the city of London.
Other highlights include a conservatory, terrace, gym and library. Holland Park itself, set on 54 lush acres, is considered to be one of the most romantic and peaceful parks in London. It was originally the private grounds of Holland House, a famous Jacobean mansion originally built in 1605 for the diplomat Sir Walter Cope and later owned by prominent politician Lord Holland and the Earl of Ilchester. The area is known for its large and attractive Victorian townhouses, a number of which house foreign embassies, posh shops and restaurants.
