Warm Your Home (Or Just Make it Look Really Cool) with Eco-Friendly, Smoke-Free Cocoon Fireplaces

Some of us long for cold weather just so we can have an excuse to use our fireplace. To be honest, if we had a Cocoon Fireplace, we would be sorely tempted to blast the air conditioner during the summer so we could get that fire blazing. Of course, we wouldn't, because that would defeat the purpose of the super eco-friendly design of Cocoon.

Run on bio-fuel, each Cocoon is smoke-free and doesn't even require a flue—meaning they are really easy to clean and don't damage the environment. Designed by Federico Otero, each fireplace has a combustion chamber that holds 1.5-liters of fuel, which can burn for up to six hours depending on the heat setting you use. According to the company, each unit gives off around the same amount of CO2 as one candle and gives approximately 3.6kw of ambient heat (similar to that of a small- or medium-sized heater), making it perfect for a small space.

With six neat designs available, it's pretty hard to choose a favorite, but if we had to, it would be the Aeris. There's something so futuristic and unique about the suspended pod-like fireplace that we can't ignore. With six different height positions, you can pretty much put it anywhere (extension poles are available if you have really high ceilings). The shell is made from carbon steel that has a black satin finish (or you can go with the stainless steel model), and it’s able to rotate 360-degrees.

If interested (and why wouldn't you be?), check with Cocoon for prices and the nearest store location that sells them.
