Thanks in part to Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom, binoculars have never been cooler. When once they were reserved for bird watching and spying on your neighbor, now they can be a cool accessory that makes you feel like you have a magic power. Finding the perfect pair may be difficult, but thankfully just yesterday, camera brand Leica announced their new Ultravid Colorline collection of retro-inspired compact binoculars.

In addition to their classic models with black leather trim, Leica's Ultravid 8 x 20 and 10 x 25 are now available in an array of fun colors (apple green, Aztec beige, dove blue, Capri blue, cherry red and lemon yellow). Considering they're so small, you can easily fit on in your pocket or bag to take with you to concerts and theaters, as well as upcoming travel destinations. Apparently, they're able to suppress light reflections impressively well, which makes these binoculars great when you're using them in the twilight hours, as well as under stage lighting and floodlights.

Priced at $945, the Ultravid 8 x 20 has a focusing limit of only 5.6 feet, meaning you can check out the smallest of details at pretty short distances. These would be the ones you will want if you're checking out an art exhibit or ancient monuments. If you need to see something really far off, you will want the $995 10 x 25, which has a 10x magnification.
