Swiss luxury timepiece brand Scalfaro, whose designs pay tribute to sporting legends “married to traditional craftsmanship and sophisticated manufacturing,” has come out with a new horological homage to one of the world’s most famous Ferraris. The Scalfaro GTO1962 Bizzarrini Edition chronograph celebrates the iconic 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO owned by Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason, one of the world’s foremost Ferrari collectors. Besides numerous design elements inspired by the car – which is worth at least $30 million, making it one of the most expensive sports cars on Earth – the watch contains a small amount of actual material taken from the chassis of Mason’s car, with an accompanying certificate of authenticity.

The watch also carries the original signature of Giotto Bizzarrini on its sapphire crystal face. Bizzarrini, the engineer responsible for much of the GTO’s DNA, went on to gain fame as the founder of his own sports car marque. The watch, finished in red, black and silver with a racing-inspired rubber strap, features a Swiss made La Joux-Perret chronograph movement visible through the sapphire-crystal see-through caseback. Limited to just 250 pieces worldwide, it is priced at 7,950, or approximately $10,950.
