Meet Ethan Conrad, the Man Revamping Sacramento

Meet the Man Revamping the Bay Area

With a 4.5/5-Star rating on Google and numerous 5/5 reviews on the Web, dozens of industry accolades and several esteemed awards, Ethan Conrad has secured his place as one of the area’s strongest presence in commercial real estate. Conrad founded his company, Ethan Conrad Properties, Inc. in 1995 and since then, he’s been the man responsible for revitalizing several properties throughout Sacramento and the Bay Area, breathing new life to luxury commercialism.

Recently taking the #20 spot on Sacramento Business Journal’s Fastest-Growing Companies, Ethan Conrad Properties, Inc. is a company that has its name behind several luxury properties in northern California, and founder Ethan Conrad was recently named to a national list of notable commercial real estate executives by Business Journal. The list spotlights 100 executives having a significant influence on real estate and development in their communities.

His incredible work ethic and focus on his work, as well as his passion for the communities throughout the Sacramento area, all contribute to the reason he has emerged as one of the most active property investors in the country; his real estate empire is now worth more than $300 million.

From Drab to Fab in Northern California

Ethan’s developed a keen eye for buying properties with potential issues and turning them into high-end bustling business locations. The company has had great success in transforming properties into attractive offerings, and a prime recent example is his purchase of Paradise Plaza for $8 million. He plans to restore the exterior structure to retain the current tenants and attract new business. The location was one factor that prompted Conrad to purchase the building; the opportunity to make improvements was another.

An additional luxury property that owes its renewed popularity to Conrad is La Borgata, a luxurious mixed-use center located in the affluent El Dorado Hills community. Revamped by Conrad with Mediterranean-style architecture and lavish, beautiful storefronts, the center features six stunning buildings that are anchored by high profile tenants like Sienna Bistro, Starbucks, Sky Sushi, and more.

Other notable holdings include the former Breuners building near Madison Avenue and I-80, the Nimbus Winery complex in Rancho Cordova, and six office buildings on Tech Center Drive – and this is just to name a few of the more than 100 commercial properties owned and maintained beautifully by Conrad and his group.

Yet another exemplary property purchased is the Yuba Sutter Mall in December of 2016. The mall covers over 400,000 square feet; Conrad purchased a bit more than 302,000 of it. Anchored by Ross, Sears, JC Penney and more, the mall includes Kay Jewelry, American Eagle, Children’s Place, and dozens of others.

Supporting Growing Economies throughout Northern California

Conrad is a strong believer in supporting local small growing businesses. Each year, his company sponsors a contest for local businesses and seeks out winners to enjoy thousands of dollars in free rent. Businesses must be small and to enter, each must submit a growth plan to a panel of seven judges, which includes Conrad. Panel members choose three small business winners that they feel have a great shot at success. The grand prize is $50,000 in free rent credits, 2ndprize is $30,000 in credits, and 3rdprize is $20,000 in free rent credits.

Work Hard, Play Hard

His demanding schedule means less time for family and friends, but Conrad knows he must take advantage of opportunities as they come. Thanks to his dedication to communities throughout the area, Sacramento enjoys luxury commercial locations that otherwise might fall victim to the eventual harsh hands of time and neglect.
