Luxury cruise line Paul Gauguin Cruises just added another ship to its fleet, the Tere Moana, which will specialize in whisking travelers away to destinations in Europe, the Caribbean and Latin America. The new ship will complete a major multimillion-dollar renovation in November and set sail for its first voyage on December 29, 2012.
During the multi-faceted makeover, The Moana will receive a touch of Polynesia in new furniture, upholstery, art, lighting, wall coverings, carpeting, ceiling finishes, window treatments, fresh paint, and floor coverings for staterooms and public spaces. All of the 45 staterooms will come complete with a queen size bed, high-end linens, down feather duvets, robes, slippers, flat screen TVs, DVD/CD players, and a refrigerator stocked daily with soda, beer, and bottled water. They will each feature beautiful ocean views, with eight of the 45 rooms offering private balconies. Other accommodations include a gym with state-of-the-art fitness equipment and the Deep Nature Spa by Algotherm with an array of signature spa treatments.
The two dining venues on board Tere Moana will include L’Etoile and The Veranda. L’Etoile will feature dishes by Chef Jean-Pierre Vigato, also of the two-star Michelin-rated restaurant Apicius in Paris. Using local ingredients directly from the port cities that are visited during the cruise, the menu will include regionally inspired cuisine prepared fresh each day. During the day, The Veranda gives diners breakfast and lunch options, while at night it turns into a reservation-only venue. On board, travelers can also enjoy a cocktail in Le Salon while listening to live piano music or guest speakers.
In December and March, The Moana, will be heading out to sea for 7-night Caribbean cruises from St. Martin, stopping at ports in the French West Indies, British Virgin Islands, and St. Kitts & Nevis. January and February will see the luxury vessel sailing out for 13- and 14-night voyages through the Panama Canal and an itinerary that features ports in Cartagena, Colombia and wildlife reserves of Costa Rica.
The Moana is also offering many different European itineraries April through November and in the spring and fall 14-night transatlantic trips are scheduled between Europe and the Caribbean. Paul Gauguin is giving cruise-goers the chance to save 50% off standard cruise fares on Tere Moana. Visit PGCruises.com to learn more.
