It’s one thing to get your family together to create a gingerbread house for the holidays, but it’s an entirely different scenario to build one large enough to eat dinner in. But that’s exactly what The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain did. On December 7, the five-star property unveiled a larger-than-life gingerbread house that is both a festive dining venue and an edible treat. It’s pretty much a dream come true.

The 18-foot residence, located on the lobby level, was made from 856 pounds of sugar, 400 pounds of honey, 350 pounds of flour, 250 eggs, 100 pounds of ginger powder, 50 pounds of cinnamon and 10 pounds of nutmeg. So, just your average Christmas dessert. It also includes a working fireplace to keep you all warm and toasty during your meal.

The house can accommodate up to six diners for a private three- or four-course dinner for $150 plus the cost of the meals. If you’d like to keep the festivities going, from December 11 to January 2, 2016 the hotel is offering a Comfort and Joy package to celebrate the season. The offer starts at $259 per night and includes overnight accommodations, a $50 daily Holiday Cheer credit per night, holiday in-room movie experience with special popcorn and hot chocolate delivery, festive turn down treat and a keepsake departure gift.
