Just in time for the holidays, resorts everywhere are outfitting themselves in true seasonal style, transforming lobbies into gingerbread house neighborhoods, top level bars into pine forested movie theaters, and rooftop pools into skating wonderlands. The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is no exception. A holiday trip to Vegas most likely will not include snow, sleigh rides, or snowman-making competitions, and while Las Vegas can be quite naughty, there’s not a city to be missed on Santa’s itinerary, ensuring that wintery fun can be had by all. To help get Vegas back on Santa’s “good” list, The Cosmopolitan is transforming the iconic Boulevard Pool into a bona fide winter wonderland. Opening on November 30th, guests can skate on real ice, snuggle up next to a cozy fire-pit and indulge in cocktails and s’mores.
Perfect for a first date or just a fun night out with your honey, “Date Skate Mondays” wills offer an uniquely romantic environment where couples can skate into the night amidst a backdrop of classic holiday movies playing on the 65 foot digital marquee. Wednesdays is a night for the club crowd, featuring DJs and “Industry Skate on The Strip,” while “Throwback Thursday” will bring retro fun for all, complete with legwarmers, disco ball, and eighties hair — if you so choose. The rink will also feature a full bar where guests can order their favorite drink or enjoy the seasonal special, The Campfire Delight paired with a savory dish or your choice of marshmellowy confection.
The rink will be open to hotel guests and Las Vegas residents alike, however native Nevadans will be able to skate all day for $10, whereas out-of-staters pay $15. Personal skates are accepted while skate rentals are also available. The rink will be open Friday November 30 through Sunday Jan 20, with hours Monday through Friday 3 pm to 11 pm and Saturday and Sunday 11 am until 11 pm. Starting December 24 and lasting until January 4, skaters can enjoy the holiday atmosphere beginning at 11 in the morning until 11 that night. Best of all, the rink is open to all ages, even little ones as young as two years old. The rink is also a great place to reserve for holiday parties and family gatherings. Whether its date night, girl’s night, or an office party, the rink at The Cosmopolitan is a great place to celebrate the season and have some fun.
