Kicking off 2022, Wynn Las Vegas is offering a line up of unique Master Classes through March 31, 2022, to give guests a behind-the-scenes enrichment experience at Wynn and Encore Las Vegas. The two luxury hotel towers offer 4,748 spacious guest rooms, suites and villas. There are multiple dining experiences and bars, casinos, live entertainment, nightlife, a pool, and spa.
Starting on Thursday, January 20, guests staying at the resort can head over to Wing Lei, the first Chinese restaurant in North America to earn a Michelin star, to learn how to make the most delicious dumplings. Known for its Cantonese, Shanghai and Szechuan flavors, Master Dim Sum Chef Sandy Shi will teach participants how to make wontons and wrappers to fill. Also, she will be making Chinese dumpling dipping sauces, and demonstrate her method of pan frying dumplings into crispy delights. A casual dim sum lunch will follow this interactive experience.
One of the big attractions to visiting Las Vegas is the food. Wynn's talented Pastry Chef Michael Outlaw guides participants step-by-step in creating some of the most visually stunning desserts. Just in time for Valentine's Day, Outlaw demonstrates how to create memorable and dazzling treats for yourself and your sweetheart. Known as the 'Sultan of Sweets' at Wynn's SW Steakhouse and Lakeside, this Master Class takes place inside Lakeside at Wynn on January 21 at 2 p.m.
Learn how to make chocolates with Executive Pastry Chef Patrice Calliot on Thursday, February 3 at 2 p.m. Only 12 guests will be invited into his kitchen at the Wynn Pastry Shop to learn the basics of making and working with chocolate. It's all about emulsions, tempering, molding and piping. Throughout the class participants will taste a variety of Wynn's artisanal chocolates.
Just before Valentine's Day, Wynn's Executive Director of Wine, Brian Weltzman guides participants through an array of sparkling wines from Champagne, Prosecco and Cava. On Friday, February 11 at 3 p.m., learn about the greatest sparkling wine regions with each sip matched with a variety of small bites. This Master Class experience takes place at Lakeside, the seafood focused restaurant overlooking the Lake of Dreams.
Just before President's Weekend, on Friday, February 18 at 3 p.m., learn how to make the perfect margarita while watching Wynn's mixologist Mariena Mercer Boarini make a masterful margarita. Participants will get to have a taste test and enjoy snacks at Casa Playa. Executive chef Sarah Thompson at the restaurant puts her own distinctive spin on authentic Mexican coastal cuisine, all sourced from Mexico's Pacific coastline. This class will get you ready to master a margarita at home in time for National Margarita Day of February 22.
Brunch Entertaining Made Easy is at La Cave - Wine & Food Hideaway with Executive Chef Billy DeMarco. On Thursday, March 3 at noon, DeMarco leads participants in an exclusive culinary demonstration with tastings inspired by his famous tableside butlered brunch. Learn tricks to elevate your home brunch entertaining with simple tips and techniques. It's all about creating delicious savory small plates that pair beautifully with sparkling wines, cocktails and craft brews. La Cave offers four distinct dining experiences that include the cellar, the front bar, rustic and refined dining room and a patio overlooking the elegantly landscaped Wynn resort pool and gardens.
Master the art of making sushi with Wynn's Executive Chef Min Kim at Mizumi and Master Sushi Chef Yuji Abinales on Friday, March 11 at noon. Meet at Mizumi, an award-winning restaurant overlooking the private Japanese gardens with an idyllic koi fish pond and 90-foot waterfall. These two esteemed chefs will lead participants in how to recreate elegant sushi platters at home. Participants will learn the secrets and tenets of Japanese cooking which include balancing flavor, color, and texture. On Thursday, March 24 at 5 p.m., discover the secrets to Wynn's Lake of Dreams with Production Manager Matt Scherbring. Participants are invited on a guided behind-the-scenes tour to learn how the magic of rolling emojis, a flying astronaut, a mermaid and singing frog come to life each night. The experience includes cocktails at Parasol Down. Take the spiraling escalator to Parasol Down from it's sister lounge, Parasol Up, under an array of multicolored parasols.
The last Thursday of the month on March 31, at 11 a.m. pet lovers will enjoy the Behind the Scenes Tour with Wynn's K9 Team. The head of Wynn's K9 operations, Ryan Millbern, takes participants on a tour of the private state-of-the-art 3,800+ square foot kennel facility and reveals a typical day for the esteem K9 squad. Participants will meet at Wynn South Convention and include refreshments.
