Palacio Real

The Palacio Real, or Royal Palace, is no doubt the largest palace in all of Europe. Located just to the east of Madrid's historic center and within walking distance of the Plaza de España, the palace features more than 200 rooms, 50 of which can be visited.

Inside, visitors can spend a day at the royal army museum, Arméria Real, which houses an extensive collection of armory, including King Charles V's armor suit. Take advantage of the excellent walking tours of sumptuously furnished bedrooms, sitting rooms and throne room. Some particularly striking rooms are the Throne Room, and the king's dressing rooms.
