Peranakan Museum

Built in 1912 in what used to be the Tao Nan Chinese School, the Peranakan Museum showcases the culture and traditions of the Peranakan communities of Southeast Asia. Peranakan refers to the descendants of 15th- and 16th-century Chinese immigrants to Singapore, and this three-story building houses one of the best collections of Peranakan items on display. State-of-the-art audio and visual effects along with interactive multimedia stations encourage learning about these influential people and their heritage in a fun, lively environment.
